| AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1082

| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1082 by replacing |

| everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| "Section 5. The Medical Patient Rights Act is amended by |
| 5 |
| adding Section 7 as follows:
|

| (410 ILCS 50/7 new) |

| Sec. 7. Patient examination. Any physician, medical |
| 8 |
| student, resident, advanced practice nurse, registered nurse, |
| 9 |
| or physician assistant who provides treatment or care to a |
| 10 |
| patient shall inform the patient of his or her profession upon |
| 11 |
| providing the treatment or care, which includes but is not |
| 12 |
| limited to any physical examination, such as a pelvic |
| 13 |
| examination. In the case of an unconscious patient, any care or |
| 14 |
| treatment must be related to the patient's illness, condition, |
| 15 |
| or disease.

| 16 |
| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, |
| 17 |
| 2004.".
