The University of Illinois Act is amended by 5 adding Section 7a-5 as follows: 6 (110 ILCS 305/7a-5 new) 7 Sec. 7a-5. Violation of policy governing student 8 conduct; fine. 9 (a) If a student has paid a fine to a municipality for 10 conduct that violated an ordinance and the University imposes 11 a fine on that student for the same conduct because the 12 conduct violated a university policy governing student 13 conduct (and if the student has submitted proof to the 14 University that a fine was imposed by and paid to the 15 municipality for the same conduct), then the University must 16 credit the fine paid to the municipality against the fine 17 imposed by the University. 18 (b) If a student has paid a fine to the University for 19 conduct that violated a university policy governing student 20 conduct and a municipality imposes a fine on that student for 21 the same conduct because the conduct violated an ordinance 22 (and if the student has submitted proof to the University 23 that a fine was imposed by the municipality for the same 24 conduct), then the University must pay to the municipality on 25 behalf of the student the fine imposed by the municipality or 26 that part of the fine that equals the amount of the fine 27 imposed by the University, whichever is less. 28 Section 10. Violation of policy governing student 3 conduct; fine. 4 (a) If a student has paid a fine to a municipality for 5 conduct that violated an ordinance and the University imposes 6 a fine on that student for the same conduct because the 7 conduct violated a university policy governing student 8 conduct (and if the student has submitted proof to the 9 University that a fine was imposed by and paid to the 10 municipality for the same conduct), then the University must 11 credit the fine paid to the municipality against the fine 12 imposed by the University. 13 (b) If a student has paid a fine to the University for 14 conduct that violated a university policy governing student 15 conduct and a municipality imposes a fine on that student for 16 the same conduct because the conduct violated an ordinance 17 (and if the student has submitted proof to the University 18 that a fine was imposed by the municipality for the same 19 conduct), then the University must pay to the municipality on 20 behalf of the student the fine imposed by the municipality or 21 that part of the fine that equals the amount of the fine 22 imposed by the University, whichever is less. 23 Section 15. The Chicago State University Law is amended 24 by adding Section 5-62 as follows: 25 (110 ILCS 660/5-62 new) 26 Sec. 5-62. The Eastern Illinois University Law is 16 amended by adding Section 10-62 as follows: 17 (110 ILCS 665/10-62 new) 18 Sec. 10-62. The Governors State University Law is 8 amended by adding Section 15-62 as follows: 9 (110 ILCS 670/15-62 new) 10 Sec. 15-62. Violation of policy governing student 11 conduct; fine. 12 (a) If a student has paid a fine to a municipality for 13 conduct that violated an ordinance and the University imposes 14 a fine on that student for the same conduct because the 15 conduct violated a university policy governing student 16 conduct (and if the student has submitted proof to the 17 University that a fine was imposed by and paid to the 18 municipality for the same conduct), then the University must 19 credit the fine paid to the municipality against the fine 20 imposed by the University. 21 (b) If a student has paid a fine to the University for 22 conduct that violated a university policy governing student 23 conduct and a municipality imposes a fine on that student for 24 the same conduct because the conduct violated an ordinance 25 (and if the student has submitted proof to the University 26 that a fine was imposed by the municipality for the same 27 conduct), then the University must pay to the municipality on 28 behalf of the student the fine imposed by the municipality or 29 that part of the fine that equals the amount of the fine 30 imposed by the University, whichever is less. 31 Section 30. The Northern Illinois University Law is 18 amended by adding Section 30-62 as follows: 19 (110 ILCS 685/30-62 new) 20 Sec. 30-62. The Western Illinois University Law is 10 amended by adding Section 35-62 as follows: 11 (110 ILCS 690/35-62 new) 12 Sec. 35-62. Violation of policy governing student 13 conduct; fine. 14 (a) If a student has paid a fine to a municipality for 15 conduct that violated an ordinance and the University imposes 16 a fine on that student for the same conduct because the 17 conduct violated a university policy governing student 18 conduct (and if the student has submitted proof to the 19 University that a fine was imposed by and paid to the 20 municipality for the same conduct), then the University must 21 credit the fine paid to the municipality against the fine 22 imposed by the University. 23 (b) If a student has paid a fine to the University for 24 conduct that violated a university policy governing student 25 conduct and a municipality imposes a fine on that student for 26 the same conduct because the conduct violated an ordinance 27 (and if the student has submitted proof to the University 28 that a fine was imposed by the municipality for the same 29 conduct), then the University must pay to the municipality on 30 behalf of the student the fine imposed by the municipality or 31 that part of the fine that equals the amount of the fine 32 imposed by the University, whichever is less.
