093_HB2241 LRB093 08207 MKM 08414 b 1 AN ACT concerning townships. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Township Code is amended by changing 5 Section 110-30 as follows: 6 (60 ILCS 1/110-30) 7 Sec. 110-30. Enforcement of ordinance or resolution. All 8 ordinances or resolutions adopted under this Article shall be 9 enforced by an officer of the township designated by 10 ordinance or resolution. The ordinance or resolution may 11 require that for any class or classes of districts created by 12 it, applications be made for permits to erect buildings or 13 structures or to alter or remodel existing buildings or 14 structures. The ordinance or resolution may vest in the 15 officer designated to enforce it the power to make orders, 16 requirements, decisions, and determinations with respect to 17 the enforcement of the terms of the ordinance or resolution. 18 The officer is authorized to issue and serve upon any 19 person that the officer has reasonable grounds to believe is 20 guilty of a violation of a zoning code or building code a 21 stop order requiring that person to cease construction until 22 a release is obtained from the county building and zoning 23 commission. A copy of the stop order must be forwarded to the 24 building and zoning commission that has jurisdiction over the 25 township where the violation is alleged to have been 26 committed. The officer has the same power and authority 27 within the township as an inspector of building codes and 28 zoning, as authorized by the township board and the zoning 29 authority that has jurisdiction over the township. 30 (Source: Laws 1967, p. 3481; P.A. 88-62.) -2- LRB093 08207 MKM 08414 b 1 Section 99.
