| AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3970

| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3970 on page 4, |

| lines 15 and 16, by replacing "However, the waiver or |
| 4 |
| modification" with "As long as physical education remains a |
| 5 |
| part of the regular curriculum, however, a waiver from or |
| 6 |
| modification to a physical education mandate that is approved |
| 7 |
| before the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 93rd |
| 8 |
| General Assembly for a school that operates under a block |
| 9 |
| schedule or for an alternative school that operates under an |
| 10 |
| alternative schedule may remain in effect until the expiration |
| 11 |
| of the already approved period and may be renewed one or more |
| 12 |
| times, upon application by the school district, for a period |
| 13 |
| not to exceed 5 school years per renewal. An approved waiver |
| 14 |
| from or modification to a physical education mandate"; and

| on page 4, line 16, by replacing "that 2-year" with "the 2-year |
| 16 |
| or 5-year".
