Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code. Requires the Department of Human Services, in cooperation with the Department of Public Health, to develop materials and resources on nutritional health for new TANF, Food Stamp, and early intervention program enrollees. Effective immediately.

| AN ACT concerning public aid.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by |
5 |
| adding Section 12-13.4 as follows: |

| (305 ILCS 5/12-13.4 new) |

| Sec. 12-13.4. Materials on nutritional health. The |
8 |
| Department of Human Services, in cooperation with the |
9 |
| Department of Public Health, shall develop materials and |
10 |
| resources on nutritional health for distribution to new |
11 |
| enrollees in the TANF program under Article IV, the Food Stamp |
12 |
| (LINK card) program, and the early intervention program under |
13 |
| the Early Intervention Services System Act. The Department of |
14 |
| Human Services shall develop the materials and resources within |
15 |
| 6 months after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the |
16 |
| 93rd General Assembly and shall provide those materials and |
17 |
| resources to all persons who enroll in the TANF program, the |
18 |
| Food Stamp (LINK card) program, or the early intervention |
19 |
| program after the materials and resources are developed.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
21 |
| becoming law.
