| AN ACT concerning professional regulation.
|
| 2 |
| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Auction License Act is amended by changing |
| 5 |
| Section 5-5 as follows:
|
| 6 |
| (225 ILCS 407/5-5)
|
| 7 |
| (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2010)
|
| 8 |
| Sec. 5-5. Legislative intent. The General Assembly finds |
| 9 |
| that Illinois
does not have the
ability, without legislation, |
| 10 |
| to enter into reciprocal agreements with other
states to allow |
| 11 |
| residents
of the State of Illinois to practice auctioneering in |
| 12 |
| other states. This body further finds
that, without |
| 13 |
| legislation,
Illinois does not have the ability to evaluate the |
| 14 |
| competency of persons
engaged in the auction
business or to |
| 15 |
| regulate this business for the protection of the public.
|
| 16 |
| Therefore, it is the purpose of
this Act to license and |
| 17 |
| regulate auctioneers.
