| AN ACT concerning notaries public.
|
| 2 |
| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Illinois Notary Public Act is amended by |
| 5 |
| changing Section 1-102 as follows:
|
| 6 |
| (5 ILCS 312/1-102) (from Ch. 102, par. 201-102)
|
| 7 |
| Sec. 1-102. Purposes and Rules of Construction. (a) This |
| 8 |
| Act shall be construed and shall be applied to promote its |
| 9 |
| underlying
purposes and policies.
|
| 10 |
| (b) The underlying purposes and policies of this Act are:
|
| 11 |
| (1) to simplify, clarify, and modernize the law governing |
| 12 |
| notaries public; and
|
| 13 |
| (2) to promote, serve, and protect the public interest.
|
