    AN ACT concerning higher education.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
 
3
represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The University of Illinois Act is amended  by 
5
adding Section 35 as follows:
 
6
    (110 ILCS 305/35  new)
7
    Sec. 35. Students called to active military service. The 
8
University shall allow a currently enrolled student who is 
9
called to active military service to complete any unfinished 
10
courses at a later date at no additional charge, unless course 
11
credit has already been given or the student received a full 
12
refund upon withdrawing from the course (in which case the 
13
student's record shall reflect that the withdrawal is due to 
14
active military service). The student must be given priority 
15
over other students in reenrolling in the course or courses.

    Section 10. The Southern Illinois University Management 
17
Act is amended  by adding Section 20 as follows:

    Sec. 20. Students called to active military service. The

University shall allow a currently enrolled student who is 
21
called to active military service to complete any unfinished 
22
courses at a later date at no additional charge, unless course 
23
credit has already been given or the student received a full

student's record shall reflect that the withdrawal is due to

over other students in reenrolling in the course or courses.

    Section 15. The Chicago State University Law is amended  by

    Section 50. The Public Community College Act is amended  by

changing Section 3-21 and  by adding Section 3-26.5 as follows:

hand in such bond and interest account, the board by resolution

may transfer such excess to the fund of the district which

bears the
nearest relation to the purpose for which the bonds

    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
17
becoming law.
