AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4963

    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4963 by deleting

everything after the enacting clause and replacing it with the 
4
following:

    "Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended  by 
6
changing Section 370e as follows:

    (215 ILCS 5/370e)  (from Ch. 73, par. 982e)

    Sec. 370e. Companies which issue group accident and health 
9
policies
or blanket accident and health plans to employer 
10
groups in this State shall
provide the employer with notice of 
11
termination of a group or blanket accident
and health plan 
12
because of the employer's failure to pay the premium when
due.  
13
The insurance company shall send a copy of such notice to the 
14
Department. Upon receipt of such notice of cancellation of a 
15
health and accident insurance policy, the Department shall mail 
16
a notice to the employer advising the employer that the 
17
employer may be required to notify its employees under Section 
18
2 of the Employee Benefit Contribution Act.
