    AN ACT in relation to public utilities.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 
3
represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by changing 
5
Section 16-129 as
follows:

    (220 ILCS 5/16-129)

    Sec. 16-129. Existing contracts not affected.  Nothing
in 
8
this Article XVI shall affect the right of an electric
utility 
9
to continue to provide, or the right of the customer
to 
10
continue to receive, service pursuant to a contract for

11
electric service between the electric utility and the
customer, 
12
in accordance with the prices, terms  and conditions
provided 
13
for in that contract.  Either the electric utility or
the 
14
customer may require compliance with the prices, terms and

15
conditions of the
such contract.
