| AN ACT concerning environmental safety.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Alternate Fuels Act is amended by adding |
| 5 |
| Section 22 as
follows:
|

| (415 ILCS 120/22 new)
|
| 7 |
| Sec. 22. Flexible fuel vehicle database. The Secretary of |
| 8 |
| State shall, to the extent that the necessary information is |
| 9 |
| obtainable from automobile manufacturers,
compile a database |
| 10 |
| of the flexible fuel vehicles in the State by zip code area.
|
| 11 |
| The database shall be created based upon the make, model, and
|
| 12 |
| vehicle identification number of registered vehicles. The |
| 13 |
| database shall
include only the number
of vehicles by zip code |
| 14 |
| and shall be completed and made available to the
public in both |
| 15 |
| print and electronic format by January 1, 2005. For the
|
| 16 |
| purposes of this Section, "flexible fuel vehicle" means a |
| 17 |
| vehicle that is
capable of running on E85 blend fuel.

| 18 |
| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 19 |
| becoming law. |
