| AN ACT in relation to civil procedure.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Code of Civil Procedure is amended by |
| 5 |
| changing
Section 1-105 as follows:
|

| Sec. 1-105. Enforcement of Code
Act and rules.
The Supreme |

| Court may provide by rule for the orderly and expeditious

| 9 |
| administration and enforcement of this Code
Act and of the |

| rules,
including the striking of pleadings, the dismissal of |
| 11 |
| claims,
the entry of defaults, the assessment of costs, the |
| 12 |
| assessment against
an offending party of the reasonable |
| 13 |
| expenses, including attorney's
fees, which any violation |
| 14 |
| causes another party to incur, or other action
that may be |
| 15 |
| appropriate.
