| AN ACT concerning taxes.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Property Tax Code is amended by changing
|
| 5 |
| Section 7-5 as follows:
|

| (35 ILCS 200/7-5)
|

| Sec. 7-5. Creation of Property Tax Appeal Board. The |
| 8 |
| Property Tax Appeal
Board shall consist of 5 members appointed |
| 9 |
| by the Governor, with the advice
and consent of the Senate. The |
| 10 |
| Governor, with the advice and consent of the
Senate, shall |
| 11 |
| designate one of the members as Chairperson
Chairman. The |
| 12 |
| Property Tax
Appeal Board shall be totally independent of the |
| 13 |
| Department. A vacancy on the
Board shall be filled in the same |
| 14 |
| manner as original appointments are made.
