    AN ACT in relation to property.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 
3
represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 2. The Uniform Disposition of Unclaimed Property 
5
Act is amended by
changing Section 8 as follows:

    (765 ILCS 1025/8)  (from Ch. 141, par. 108)

    Sec. 8. Property held by court or other public officer or 
8
entity.  All
funds and intangible personal property held for the 
9
owner by
any court, public authority, or public officer of this

10
State, or a political subdivision thereof, that has remained 
11
unclaimed by
the owner for more than 7 years is presumed 
12
abandoned.
This Section does not apply to deposits made to 
13
municipalities as a
condition for the issuance of a building 
14
permit.
