| AN ACT concerning professional regulation.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Medical Practice Act of 1987 is amended by |
| 5 |
| changing
Section 6 as follows:
|
| 6 |
| (225 ILCS 60/6) (from Ch. 111, par. 4400-6)
|

| (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2007)
|

| Sec. 6. Exclusive State power or function. It is declared |
| 9 |
| to be the
public policy of this State, pursuant to
paragraphs |
| 10 |
| (h) and (i) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois
|
| 11 |
| Constitution of 1970, that any power or function set forth in |
| 12 |
| this
Act to be exercised by the State is an exclusive State |
| 13 |
| power or function.
Such power or function shall not be |
| 14 |
| exercised concurrently, either directly
or indirectly, by any |
| 15 |
| unit of local government, including home rule units,
except as |
| 16 |
| otherwise provided in this Act.
