| AN ACT concerning aging.
|
| 2 |
| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Illinois Act on the Aging is amended by |
| 5 |
| changing
Section 2 as follows:
|
| 6 |

| Sec. 2. Purpose. The ability of the constantly increasing |
| 8 |
| number of aged
in the State to
maintain self-sufficiency and |
| 9 |
| personal well-being with the dignity to which
their years of |
| 10 |
| labor entitle them and to realize their maximum potential as
|
| 11 |
| creative and productive individuals are matters of profound |
| 12 |
| import and
concern for all of the people of this State.
|
| 13 |
| The purposes of this Act are to provide a comprehensive and |
| 14 |
| coordinated
service system for the State's aging population, |
| 15 |
| giving high priority to
those persons in greatest need; to |
| 16 |
| conduct studies and research into the
needs and problems of the |
| 17 |
| aging; and to insure participation by the aging
in the planning |
| 18 |
| and operation of all phases of the system.
