| AN ACT concerning alcoholic liquor.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Liquor Control Act of 1934 is amended by |
| 5 |
| adding Section 9-2b as follows: |
| 6 |
| (235 ILCS 5/9-2b new)
|
| 7 |
| Sec. 9-2b. Prohibition against sale of alcoholic liquor; |
| 8 |
| exception. Notwithstanding any provision in this Act to the |
| 9 |
| contrary, in any township that has voted to prohibit the retail |
| 10 |
| sale of alcoholic liquor under Section 9-2, the township board |
| 11 |
| may authorize the local liquor control commissioner to issue a |
| 12 |
| special event retailer's license (not-for-profit) authorizing |
| 13 |
| the sale of beer for up to 3 days per year for up to 3 years at |
| 14 |
| an agricultural show that is held on privately-owned property |
| 15 |
| that is within the township, but is not within the corporate |
| 16 |
| limits of a city, village, or incorporated town. This Section |
| 17 |
| is repealed 3 years after the effective date of this amendatory |
| 18 |
| Act of the 93rd General Assembly.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 20 |
| becoming law.
