Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that a person commits a Class B misdemeanor if he or she fails or refuses to comply with any order or direction of a police officer to exit a motor vehicle, to remain in a motor vehicle, or to move to a specific location at the site where a motor vehicle is stopped for a traffic violation.

| AN ACT concerning vehicles.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by changing |
5 |
| Section 11-203 as follows:
|

| (625 ILCS 5/11-203) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 11-203)

| Sec. 11-203. Obedience to police officers. (a)
|
8 |
| No person shall wilfully fail or refuse to comply with any |
9 |
| lawful order
or direction of any police officer, fireman, or |
10 |
| school
crossing guard invested by law with authority to
direct, |
11 |
| control, or regulate traffic.
Any person convicted of violating |
12 |
| this subsection (a)
Section
is guilty
of a petty offense and |
13 |
| shall be subject to a mandatory fine of $150.
|

| (b) A person commits a Class B misdemeanor if he or she |
15 |
| fails or refuses to comply with any order or direction of a |
16 |
| police officer to exit a motor vehicle, to remain in a motor |
17 |
| vehicle, or to move to a specific location at the site where a |
