Amends the Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law of the Civil
Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Department of Public Health
shall establish a registry of all active and retired health care professionals
to be accessed in the event of an act of bioterrorism or other public health
emergency. Effective immediately.

| AN ACT concerning health care.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Department of Public Health Powers and |
5 |
| Duties Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is |
6 |
| amended by adding Section 2310-145 as
follows:
|

| (20 ILCS 2310/2310-145 new)

| Sec. 2310-145. Registry of health care professionals. The |
9 |
| Department shall
establish a registry of all active and retired |
10 |
| health care professionals,
including nurses, nurse |
11 |
| practitioners, advanced practice nurses, physicians,
physician |
12 |
| assistants, emergency medical technicians, psychologists,
|
13 |
| professional counselors, clinical professional counselors, and |
14 |
| pharmacists. The
registry shall be accessed in the event of an |
15 |
| act of bioterrorism or other
public health emergency.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
17 |
| becoming law. |
