    AN ACT concerning medicaid funding for substance abuse

treatment facilities.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
 
4
represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Alcoholism and Other Drug Abuse and 
6
Dependency Act is amended  by changing Section 50-5 as follows:

    Sec. 50-5. Prevention and Treatment of Alcoholism and 
9
Substance Abuse
Block Grant Fund.  Moneys
Monies received from 
10
the federal government under the Block
Grant for the Prevention 
11
and Treatment of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse shall
be 
12
deposited into the Prevention and Treatment of Alcoholism and 
13
Substance
Abuse Block Grant Fund, which is hereby created as a 
14
special fund in the State
treasury.  Moneys
Monies in this fund 
15
shall be appropriated to the Department and
expended for the 
16
purposes and activities specified by federal law or
regulation.
