| HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The illegal production and distribution of |
| 3 |
| methamphetamine is a threat to the public safety of this State; |
| 4 |
| and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Current laws have not decreased this illegal |
| 6 |
| activity; therefore, be it
|
| 7 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 8 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE |
| 9 |
| SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that there is created the |
| 10 |
| Methamphetamine Task Force hereinafter referred to as the Task |
| 11 |
| Force consisting of 13 members appointed as follows: (1) one |
| 12 |
| member representing the Office of the Attorney General |
| 13 |
| appointed by the Attorney General; (2) one member representing |
| 14 |
| the Illinois Department of State Police appointed by the |
| 15 |
| Director of State Police; (3) one member representing the |
| 16 |
| Illinois Sheriffs' Association; (4) one member representing |
| 17 |
| the Illinois Retail Merchants Association; (5) one member of |
| 18 |
| the Senate appointed by the President of the Senate; (6) one |
| 19 |
| member of the Senate appointed by the Minority Leader of the |
| 20 |
| Senate; (7) one member of the House of Representatives |
| 21 |
| appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives; (8) |
| 22 |
| one member of the House of Representatives appointed by the |
| 23 |
| Minority Leader of the House of Representatives; (9) one member |
| 24 |
| representing the Illinois Farm Bureau; and (10) four members |
| 25 |
| representing the Office of the Governor appointed by the |
| 26 |
| Governor; and be it further
|
| 27 |
| RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall choose its chair and |
| 28 |
| such other officers as it deems appropriate; and be it further
|
| 29 |
| RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall study how to curb the |
| 30 |
| illegal production and distribution of methamphetamine and |
| 31 |
| recommend to the Governor and the General Assembly proposed |
