093_HR0050 LRB093 10168 HSS 10422 r 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the 3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage 4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for 5 the people of the State of Illinois; and 6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs. 7 Leslie and Theresa Schotka of East Moline will celebrate 8 their fiftieth anniversary of their marriage; and 9 WHEREAS, Leslie and Theresa Schotka were united in 10 marriage in holy matrimony on February 14, 1953, at St. 11 Mary's Church in East Moline; and 12 WHEREAS, They are the loving parents of Kathleen Ann, 13 Linda Marie, Mary Theresa, Ann Leslie, and Martin Frank; the 14 grandparents of seven grandchildren, Jerry, Leslie, Mike 15 Rebecca, Alex, Charlene, and Ben; and the great-grandparents 16 of Ashley and Zachary; and 17 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its 18 highest plateaus when a couple such as Leslie and Theresa 19 celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; and 20 WHEREAS, Leslie and Theresa stand as examples of the best 21 of our society, and their love and devotion to each other and 22 to their family and friends serve as a reminder to all that 23 hard work, dedication, and love can make a difference in 24 today's world; therefore, be it 25 RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 26 NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 27 we congratulate Leslie and Theresa Schotka on the occasion of 28 their fiftieth wedding anniversary; that we commend them for 29 achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with children, 30 grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and rich in 31 friendships; and that we wish them happiness and good health -2- LRB093 10168 HSS 10422 r 1 in the future; and be it further 2 RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be 3 presented to them as an expression of our respect and esteem.
