093_HR0379 LRB093 12101 HSS 16953 r 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, As a result of the tragic events of September 3 11, 2001, the 933rd Military Police Company (Combat Support) 4 of the Illinois National Guard was activated and deployed for 5 a period spanning approximately November, 2001 through July, 6 2002 to assist in maintaining security at O'Hare 7 International Airport and Midway Airport; and 8 WHEREAS, As a result of the recent engagement of the 9 United States of America in Iraq, the 933rd Military Police 10 Company (Combat Support) has again been activated and 11 deployed to Iraq; and 12 WHEREAS, The men and women of the 933rd Military Police 13 Company (Combat Support) are performing their duties with 14 courage and distinction; and 15 WHEREAS, The State of Illinois recognizes the continued 16 dedicated service of these men and women who serve the State 17 and the nation by protecting the lives and property of their 18 families, friends, and neighbors; and 19 WHEREAS, They have offered active support to the United 20 States of America at this time; therefore, be it 21 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 22 NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 23 we honor the brave and selfless men and women of all 24 components of the United States and allied armed forces for 25 their great personal sacrifice, and especially the 933rd 26 Military Police Company (Combat Support) for their dedication 27 to our State and country, for their defense of our freedom 28 and security, and for their willingness to answer the call to 29 duty during this time of danger to our country; and be it 30 further 31 RESOLVED, That we pay special honor to the men and women -2- LRB093 12101 HSS 16953 r 1 on active service from Illinois, as they undertake their 2 perilous missions; and be it further 3 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 4 presented to the President of the United States, the 5 Secretary of Defense, the members of the Illinois 6 congressional delegation, and the Adjutant General of the 7 Illinois Department of Military Affairs.
