| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois wish to congratulate Maureen Detzler, who has |
| 4 |
| worked at the same dental office in Aurora for 50 years; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Maureen Detzler (nee Wray) was born on September |
| 6 |
| 14, 1915 in Terre Haute, Indiana; at age 17, she began working |
| 7 |
| for Dr. Wayne Carter in South Bend, Indiana; after working for |
| 8 |
| Dr. Carter for five years, she married George "King" Detzler in |
| 9 |
| 1937 and she and King moved to Missouri; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Several years later, the family returned to |
| 11 |
| Illinois; in 1954 she began working as dental assistant and |
| 12 |
| bookkeeper for Dr. Roberts, a dentist in Aurora; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Roberts sold his practice to Dr. James |
| 14 |
| Soderstrom and Mrs. Detzler began working for Dr. Soderstrom on |
| 15 |
| June 10, 1974; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Detzler celebrated her 88th birthday in |
| 17 |
| September of 2003; she still works, drives, and cooks huge |
| 18 |
| meals for the family; therefore, be it
|
| 19 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 20 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 21 |
| congratulate Maureen Detzler for her remarkable achievement of |
| 22 |
| working at the same dental office for 50 years, and we admire |
| 23 |
| her dedication and hard work; and be it further
|
| 24 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 25 |
| presented to Maureen Detzler as an expression of our respect |
| 26 |
| and esteem.
