| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives wish |
| 3 |
| to congratulate the
Prospect Heights Lions Club on the occasion |
| 4 |
| of its 50th anniversary; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, The Prospect Heights Lions Club was officially |
| 6 |
| chartered on March 26, 1954;
the club is known for its services |
| 7 |
| to the blind and hearing-impaired; it has
also aided education, |
| 8 |
| recreational, and social activities; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Members of the Lions Club provide eyeglasses and |
| 10 |
| hearing aids to needy families in the area; provide food |
| 11 |
| baskets and toys for children at Christmas;
have held fund |
| 12 |
| raisers for the police and fire departments of Prospect |
| 13 |
| Heights; provide college scholarships each year to local |
| 14 |
| children; and donate money to pay for program fees at the |
| 15 |
| Prospect Heights Park District for families in need; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, The Prospect Heights Lions Club donated the land |
| 17 |
| to the Prospect Heights Park District where the Gary Morava |
| 18 |
| Center now sits; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Lions Club members are service-minded people |
| 20 |
| who's motto is "We serve."; they are committed to
improving the |
| 21 |
| civic, social, and moral welfare of their community; therefore, |
| 22 |
| be it
|
| 23 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-THIRD
GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |

| congratulate the Prospect Heights
Lions Club on the occasion of |

| its 50th anniversary, and we commend the members
of the club

| for their commitment to serve the community; and be it further
