| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to congratulate the Des Plaines |
| 4 |
| Library on being designated Library of the Year for 2003 by the |
| 5 |
| North Suburban Library System; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, The Des Plaines Library has seen circulation |
| 7 |
| steadily increasing to record levels and celebrated a milestone |
| 8 |
| in terms of items of items checked out by patrons; last year, |
| 9 |
| the library surpassed 1,000,000 items lent to patrons; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, The award is an acknowledgement of efforts by the |
| 11 |
| staff of the Des Plaines Library to collaborate with other |
| 12 |
| libraries by sharing material, meeting space, and other |
| 13 |
| resources; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, The Des Plaines Library opened its current 80,000 |
| 15 |
| square foot building in 2000; it is twice the size of the |
| 16 |
| previous location; therefore, be it
|
| 17 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 18 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 19 |
| congratulate the Des Plaines Library on being named the Library |
| 20 |
| of the Year for 2003 by the North Suburban Library System; and |
| 21 |
| be it further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 23 |
| presented to the Des Plaines Library as an expression of our |
| 24 |
| esteem.
