| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to congratulate Shelbee |
| 4 |
| Ramirez-Wood on being the gold medal winner of the 9 to 10 |
| 5 |
| year-old female expert division downhill race at the National |
| 6 |
| Standard Alpine Race at Park City Mountain, Utah in March of |
| 7 |
| 2004; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Shelbee Ramirez-Wood is 10 years old and attends |
| 9 |
| Southern View Elementary School in Southern View, where she is |
| 10 |
| in fifth grade and is an honor roll student; she is also a snow |
| 11 |
| ski racer for the Cascade Mountain race team in Wisconsin; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Shelbee had her first ski session when she was 22 |
| 13 |
| months old, assisted by her ski buddy, Sam Simmons; she has |
| 14 |
| skied all over the Midwest and the Rocky Mountains, in |
| 15 |
| California, Utah, New Mexico, and Colorado; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Shelbee was presented her gold medal by U.S. |
| 17 |
| Olympic Ski Team member Daron Rahlves; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, In her spare time, when she's not skiing, Shelbee |
| 19 |
| enjoys martial arts, snowboarding, inline skating, |
| 20 |
| skateboarding, ice skating, bicycling, rock climbing, |
| 21 |
| gymnastics, cheerleading, and motorcycle racing; therefore, be |
| 22 |

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |

| congratulate Shelbee Ramirez-Wood on being the gold medal |
