| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives wish to congratulate Dr. James David Upchurch |
| 4 |
| on his retirement as Superintendent of Schools for Arbor Park |
| 5 |
| School District 145 on June 30, 2004; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Upchurch began his career in education as a |
| 7 |
| physical education teacher in 1971 at North Palos School |
| 8 |
| District 117; one year later, he became a science teacher in |
| 9 |
| the same school district, a position he held for the next four |
| 10 |
| years; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, He moved to Arbor Park School District 145 in 1976 |
| 12 |
| as an assistant principal and became a building principal the |
| 13 |
| following year; he held the position of principal for three |
| 14 |
| years and was promoted to assistant superintendent in 1980; |
| 15 |
| after two years as assistant superintendent, he became |
| 16 |
| superintendent of schools in 1983, a position he has held with |
| 17 |
| distinction until his retirement in 2004; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 19 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 20 |
| congratulate Dr. James David Upchurch on his retirement after |
| 21 |
| many years of dedication in the field of education; and we wish |
| 22 |
| him well in all his future endeavors; and be it further
|
| 23 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 24 |
| presented to Dr. James David Upchurch as an expression of our |
| 25 |
| respect and esteem.
