| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives wish to recognize Illinois teachers in honor of |
| 4 |
| National PTA Teacher Appreciation Week held May 2nd-8th, 2004; |
| 5 |
| and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, The United States has made considerable progress |
| 7 |
| in the social, technological, and scientific fields; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Much of this progress can be attributed to the |
| 9 |
| qualified and dedicated teachers entrusted with the |
| 10 |
| educational development of our children to their full |
| 11 |
| potential; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Teachers should be accorded high public esteem, |
| 13 |
| reflecting the value the community places on public education; |
| 14 |
| and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, PTAs on every level nationwide are keenly aware of |
| 16 |
| the importance and impact of teachers on children; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, It is appropriate that teachers be recognized for |
| 18 |
| their dedication and commitment to educating their students; |
| 19 |
| and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, National PTA Teacher Appreciation Week offers the |
| 21 |
| opportunity for citizens to reaffirm their commitment to |
| 22 |
| parent-teacher partnerships; therefore, be it
|
| 23 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 24 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 25 |
| recognize National PTA Teacher Appreciation Week and honor the |
| 26 |
| teachers of Illinois; and be it further
