| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives wish to recognize St. Francis grade school in |
| 4 |
| Quincy for performing the play "We the People" on April 23, |
| 5 |
| 2004; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, This year, St. Francis had the distinct honor of |
| 7 |
| being the only grade school in the nation to be approved to |
| 8 |
| perform this play; the play is an American themed production |
| 9 |
| that begins with the Preamble to the Constitution and concludes |
| 10 |
| with the events of September 11, 2001; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, The "American" theme of the play has inspired the |
| 12 |
| children of St. Francis to help our troops in Iraq; the school |
| 13 |
| will be sending care packages to the local men and women who |
| 14 |
| are serving in Iraq; each care package will include a videotape |
| 15 |
| of the play as well as items that they enjoy and need; |
| 16 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 18 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 19 |
| recognize the students and faculty of St. Francis grade school |
| 20 |
| for their patriotism and support of our troops in Iraq; and be |
| 21 |
| it further
|
| 22 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 23 |
| presented to St. Francis grade school as an expression of our |
| 24 |
| respect.
