| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives were saddened to learn of the death of Youko |
| 4 |
| Amai Ellison on April 5, 2004; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Youko Amai Ellison was born in Kitatoshima County, |
| 6 |
| Tokyo, on January 5, 1929; she was the first of two children |
| 7 |
| born to Kousaku and Sei Amai; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, She completed her formal education at Toa Girls |
| 9 |
| High School in Namamugi-Cho Tsurumi Ward, Yokohama City in |
| 10 |
| March of 1945; while in Japan, she worked for several companies |
| 11 |
| as a clerk: Kanto Electric Co., Ltd. of Kaminamiki-Cho, |
| 12 |
| Kawasaki City and, thereafter, at Yokohama Engineer Depot of |
| 13 |
| Kanagawa Ward, Yokohama City; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, On April 12, 1954, Youko Amai was united in holy |
| 15 |
| matrimony to Warren C. Ellison; on May 12, 1958, their union |
| 16 |
| was made complete with the birth of their precious son, Warren |
| 17 |
| S. Ellison; they enjoyed a special partnership for forty-nine |
| 18 |
| years; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, As a result of her husband's military career, Mrs. |
| 20 |
| Ellison traveled extensively throughout the United States and |
| 21 |
| abroad; she lovingly accompanied him, eagerly assisting him as |
| 22 |
| devoted helpmate; during these years, their marriage grew |
| 23 |
| stronger and more committed; Mr. Ellison retired after serving |
| 24 |
| over thirty years in the military and the family relocated to |
| 25 |
| Chicago; and
|
| 26 |
| WHEREAS, After returning to Chicago, Mrs. Ellison joined |
| 27 |
| Mossner Printing Company; she worked as a bookkeeper and was a |
| 28 |
| dedicated employee for more than twenty years until she |
| 29 |
| retired; and
|
