| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to recognize the Charleston Gun |
| 4 |
| Club for its many years of existence; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, The Charleston Gun Club was founded sometime in |
| 6 |
| the 1940s; it was recognized as a non-profit organization 1953; |
| 7 |
| the original location of the Gun Club was east of the current |
| 8 |
| Charleston High School; the current location is 4 miles south |
| 9 |
| of Charleston, off of Lincoln Highway; the group has been in |
| 10 |
| that location since 1953; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, During its existence, there has never been a fire |
| 12 |
| arm related accident at the Gun Club; in 1981, Jackie Bolin, a |
| 13 |
| woman, was on the winning skeet team; this was the first time |
| 14 |
| in the Club's history for a woman to be a member of a winning |
| 15 |
| team; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 17 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 18 |
| congratulate the Charleston Gun Club on its many years of |
| 19 |
| existence and accident-free history; and be it further
|
| 20 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 21 |
| presented to the Charleston Gun Club as an expression of our |
| 22 |
| respect and esteem.
