| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |

| State of Illinois are pleased to congratulate the members of |

| the Thornridge High School drama program on winning the |
| 5 |
| Illinois High School Association's first prize for contest play |
| 6 |
| and second prize for group interpretation at the State |
| 7 |
| competition; and

| WHEREAS, Students in the program performed their rendition |
| 9 |
| of August Wilson's "The Piano Lesson" in the contest play |
| 10 |
| category; their performance for the group interpretation |
| 11 |
| category featured "Sweat" by Zora Neale Hurston; and

| 12 |
| WHEREAS, "The Piano Lesson" was directed by Bill Kirksey, |
| 13 |
| Yvonne Nesbitt, Tom Paliga, and Cindy McKinnon; the cast |
| 14 |
| included Dion Rice, Donald Conley, Anthony Richardson, Mandy |
| 15 |
| Lewis, Camille Smith, James Miller, and Reginald Simmons; |

| members of the technical crew included Stephanie Jackson, |
