| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives wish to recognize Darryl Bolen on being |
| 4 |
| selected to receive this year's Gerald Turley Award from the |
| 5 |
| Greenville Chamber of Commerce; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, This year marks the 15th year the chamber has |
| 7 |
| given this award honoring those who have given the community |
| 8 |
| extra-ordinary community service; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Bolen's work in the community is over and |
| 10 |
| above what could be considered pastoral duties and has been |
| 11 |
| significant; whatever the activity, it is as if that is exactly |
| 12 |
| where he wants to be, doing exactly what he would choose to do |
| 13 |
| most; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, For more than thirty years, Mr. Bolen has been |
| 15 |
| giving of his talents to the community of Greenville; some of |
| 16 |
| his contributions include: Vice President of Bond County Health |
| 17 |
| Department, being actively involved with the Bond County Senior |
| 18 |
| Citizens Board and Inception of Bond County Hospice, |
| 19 |
| Chairperson for Relay for Life, President of the Federal |
| 20 |
| Correction Institution Community Relations Board, a member of |
| 21 |
| Greenville College Community Relations Committee, a volunteer |
| 22 |
| in the community with Toys for Joy, Federal Correctional |
| 23 |
| Institution GED Graduation Speaker, and volunteering with the |
| 24 |
| Food Pantry; and
|
| 25 |
| WHEREAS, Darryl Bolen exemplifies the spirit of the true |
| 26 |
| volunteer; therefore, be it
|
| 27 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 28 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 29 |
| congratulate Darryl Bolen on being selected to receive the 2004 |
| 30 |
| Gerald Turley Award and commend him for his dedication and hard |
