| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois would like to recognize Mrs. Levarn Davis on |
| 4 |
| the occasion of her 80th birthday; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Levarn Davis of |
| 6 |
| Chicago is celebrating the 80th anniversary of her birth, and |
| 7 |
| this glorious event will take place on June 6, 2004 at the |
| 8 |
| Regency Inn located at 5319 West Diversy at 3:30 p.m.; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Levarn Davis was born on June 6, 1924, in |
| 10 |
| Forest, Mississippi; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Levarn Davis was married to Otha Davis for |
| 12 |
| many, many years and together, they were the proud parents of |
| 13 |
| 10 wonderful children; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Davis moved to the Lawndale community in |
| 15 |
| Chicago in 1955 or 1956; she has a strong faith and through the |
| 16 |
| years has always stood up for what she believes in; she is |
| 17 |
| known by many names, including Sister Levarn Davis at her |
| 18 |
| church, where she has been a member for 53 years; Mama to her |
| 19 |
| 10 children; and Mrs. Davis to her neighbors in the community, |
| 20 |
| her many friends, and the friends of her children; she is loved |
| 21 |
| and respected by many; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 23 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 24 |
| congratulate Mrs. Levarn Davis on the occasion of her 80th |
| 25 |
| birthday and offer our best wishes for the future; and be it |
| 26 |

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 28 |
| presented to Mrs. Levarn Davis as an expression of our respect |

| and esteem.
