| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to congratulate Charlie Johnson |
| 4 |
| on the occasion of his retirement from the Chicago Police |
| 5 |
| Department; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Johnson was born in the McKinley Park |
| 7 |
| community; he valiantly served his country during the Vietnam |
| 8 |
| War and was a recipient of the Bronze Star; he married Debra |
| 9 |
| (Powell) in August of 1971; he is the father of 2 children, |
| 10 |
| Charles (Mandy) and James; he has been a resident of Garfield |
| 11 |
| Ridge for the past 30 years; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Johnson has been a Chicago Police Officer |
| 13 |
| since 1971; during his time with the police department, he |
| 14 |
| received 3 Chicago Police Department commendations and |
| 15 |
| numerous honorable mentions; he served in the 2nd and 8th |
| 16 |
| districts during his 33 years of service; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Johnson was active in his community as a past |
| 18 |
| vice president of the Clear Ridge Baseball League, where he |
| 19 |
| also was a manager for 8 years; and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Johnson retired from his position with the |
| 21 |
| Chicago Police Department on February 15, 2004, and is being |
| 22 |
| honored with a retirement party on June 5, 2004; therefore, be |
| 23 |
| it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 25 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 26 |
| congratulate Charlie Johnson on the occasion of his retirement |
| 27 |
| from the Chicago Police Department, and we thank him for his |
| 28 |
| many years of dedicated service to the citizens of Illinois; |
| 29 |
