| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to congratulate Mary Rash on the |
| 4 |
| occasion of her retirement after more than 30 years of service |
| 5 |
| at Community High School in West Chicago; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Rash received her bachelor's degree from the |
| 7 |
| University of Wisconsin and her master's degree from Northern |
| 8 |
| Illinois University with more than 60 hours of post-graduate |
| 9 |
| work; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Rash has taught civics and geography for more |
| 11 |
| than 30 years at Community High School in West Chicago; she was |
| 12 |
| one of the key contributors to the nationally recognized |
| 13 |
| Legislative Session at Community High School, where all seniors |
| 14 |
| participate in a semester-long simulation of the legislative |
| 15 |
| process; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Rash has fostered programs to help the diverse |
| 17 |
| population at Community High School and served as a liaison |
| 18 |
| with the local Veterans of Foreign Wars; her efforts have |
| 19 |
| resulted in more than 200 students participating in the Voice |
| 20 |
| of Democracy competition over the last 12 years; she also |
| 21 |
| worked closely with the guidance department to raise awareness |
| 22 |
| of citizenship programs; and
|
| 23 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Rash also taught at the DuPage Youth Home in |
| 24 |
| Warrenville; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 26 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 27 |
| congratulate Mary Rash on the occasion of her retirement after |
| 28 |
| more than 30 years as an educator at Community High School in |
| 29 |
| West Chicago, and we thank her for her devotion to the |
| 30 |
| education of students; and be it further
