| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives were saddened to learn of the death of Bertha |
| 4 |
| Balls of Chicago on May 27, 2004; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Balls attended J.N. Thorpe Grammar School, |
| 6 |
| Bowen High School, and attended Wilson Junior College for 2 |
| 7 |
| years; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Ms. Balls had worked at the 95th and Halsted |
| 9 |
| Street McDonald's in Chicago for 13 years; the team at |
| 10 |
| McDonald's was like her second family; she worked as a member |
| 11 |
| of the breakfast team at McDonald's and her preparation of |
| 12 |
| their grits was unforgettable by the customers to the point |
| 13 |
| that she hardly ever had an off day; she also prepared salads |
| 14 |
| and biscuits; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, She was a member of The Senior Citizen Groups; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Ms. Bertha Balls will be deeply |
| 17 |
| felt by many, especially her children, Audrey Haywood and Vance |
| 18 |
| Mims; her four granddaughters; and her McDonald's family and |
| 19 |
| community; therefore, be it
|
| 20 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 21 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 22 |
| mourn the death of Bertha Balls along with all who knew and |
| 23 |
| loved her and extend our sincere condolences to her family and |
| 24 |
| friends; and be it further
|
| 25 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 26 |
| presented to the family of Bertha Balls as an expression of our |
| 27 |
| deepest sympathy.
