| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives wish to recognize Dr. Steven B. Nasatir, |
| 4 |
| President of the Jewish United Fund/Jewish Federation of |
| 5 |
| Metropolitan Chicago, for his 25 years of dedicated service; |
| 6 |
| and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, A recognized authority in social and human |
| 8 |
| services and a distinguished Jewish communal leader, Dr. |
| 9 |
| Nasatir was appointed in 1979 as the fourth chief executive |
| 10 |
| officer in the 104-year history of Chicago's Jewish Federation; |
| 11 |
| he has worked passionately and tirelessly at the helm of |
| 12 |
| Chicago's Jewish community; he is a charismatic international |
| 13 |
| leader whose actions have set the Jewish world in motion at |
| 14 |
| moments of historic opportunity and crisis; he has received |
| 15 |
| numerous awards and has served on a number of boards, |
| 16 |
| commissions, and task forces; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, A Silver Salute: Celebrating 25 Years of Steve |
| 18 |
| Nasatir's Federation/JUF Presidency will be held October 20, |
| 19 |
| 2004, in Chicago; Dr. Nasatir hopes this honor will provide a |
| 20 |
| framework for addressing essential community needs through the |
| 21 |
| Steven B. Nasatir New Directions Fund, a special endowment |
| 22 |
| within the Federation's Centennial Campaign which will help |
| 23 |
| fund new projects and initiatives that express his unique |
| 24 |
| visionary leadership for years to come; therefore, be it
|
| 25 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 26 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 27 |
| recognize Dr. Steven B. Nasatir's dedication to the well-being |
| 28 |
| and the future of the Jewish people; and be it further
|
| 29 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 30 |
| presented to Dr. Steven B. Nasatir as a expression of our |
| 31 |
| deepest respect and admiration.
