| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, Firefighters are courageous and devoted public |
| 3 |
| servants who risk their lives for the betterment of their |
| 4 |
| communities by serving as defenders of lives and property; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 6 |
| Representatives wish to recognize Firefighter/Engineer Al |
| 7 |
| Rollins on the occasion of his retirement from the Normal Fire |
| 8 |
| Department after 27 years of dedicated service; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Rollins began his career with the Normal Fire |
| 10 |
| Department as a volunteer in May of 1974; he became a full-time |
| 11 |
| firefighter on January 1, 1977; he was promoted to the position |
| 12 |
| of Driver/Engineer on May 10, 1999; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, During his career, he was instrumental in the |
| 14 |
| establishment of a second rescue squad and he was a member of |
| 15 |
| the department's Hazardous Materials Team; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, His long and diligent service to his community has |
| 17 |
| touched the lives of countless people and deserves the highest |
| 18 |
| praise; therefore, be it
|
| 19 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 20 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 21 |
| commend Al Rollins for his long and distinguished career of |
| 22 |
| exemplary public service to his community and we wish him good |
| 23 |
| health and happiness in all of his future endeavors; and be it |
| 24 |
| further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 26 |
| presented to Al Rollins as an expression of our admiration and |
| 27 |
| respect.
