| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the
|
| 3 |
| cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage
|
| 4 |
| that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for
the |
| 5 |
| people of the State of Illinois; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that a celebration of |
| 7 |
| the fiftieth wedding anniversary of Dr. and Mrs. Roland |
| 8 |
| Alexander of Fairview Heights will be held on July 10, 2004; |
| 9 |
| and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Roland Alexander is originally from Virginia; he |
| 11 |
| is a graduate of Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville |
| 12 |
| and Carbondale and is retired from School District 189; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Joyce Williams Alexander was born in Mississippi; |
| 14 |
| she is a graduate of Jackson State University, where she was |
| 15 |
| Miss Jackson State; she is also a graduate of Southern Illinois |
| 16 |
| University at Carbondale and is retired from Cahokia School |
| 17 |
| District 187; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, Roland and Joyce Alexander are the proud parents |
| 19 |
| of two sons, Derek Alexander and Robert Alexander; therefore, |
| 20 |
| be it
|
| 21 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 22 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 23 |
| congratulate Dr. and Mrs. Roland Alexander on the occasion of
|
| 24 |
| their fiftieth wedding anniversary; we commend them for
|
| 25 |
| achieving a long and happy marriage and we wish
them happiness |
| 26 |
| and good health in the future; and be it further
|
| 27 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 28 |
| presented to Dr. and Mrs. Roland Alexander as a expression of |
| 29 |
| our admiration.
