| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The State has negotiated a fair contract with |
| 3 |
| AFSCME members to secure reasonable raises over the next four |
| 4 |
| years; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, It has been a long-standing policy of the State |
| 6 |
| that merit compensation employees be given benefits similar to |
| 7 |
| those of union employees; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Early retirement and a tight budget year have made |
| 9 |
| many merit compensation employees' jobs more difficult than |
| 10 |
| usual; therefore, be it
|
| 11 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 12 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 13 |
| encourage the Governor to extend to merit compensation |
| 14 |
| employees benefit enhancements similar to those given to AFSCME |
| 15 |
| members; and be it further
|
| 16 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 17 |
| presented to the Governor.
