| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to congratulate Brody Walworth on |
4 |
| attending the American Legion Boys Nation leadership |
5 |
| conference in Washington, D.C.; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Walworth is a resident of Mattoon; he is a |
7 |
| senior at Mattoon High School; and |
8 |
| WHEREAS, The conference was held on July 23-31; |
9 |
| participants acted as delegates to the conference's mock |
10 |
| Senate; and |
11 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Walworth was one of two delegates from |
12 |
| Illinois to attend the conference; he was chosen to be a |
13 |
| representative during the Premier Boys State event held at |
14 |
| Eastern Illinois University in Charleston in June; and |
15 |
| WHEREAS, Each delegate drafted a "bill" prior to the |
16 |
| conference, and four committees decided which proposed laws |
17 |
| would make it to the Senate's floor; Mr. Walworth was elected |
18 |
| chairman of his committee; and |
19 |
| WHEREAS, During the conference, Mr. Walworth and the other |
20 |
| ninety-six delegates visited the new World War II memorial, the |
21 |
| Vietnam memorial, the Korean memorial, the Lincoln memorial, |
22 |
| the Armed Forces Court of Appeals, the United States Supreme |
23 |
| Court, the State Department, and the Capitol Building; he also |
24 |
| visited Arlington National Cemetery and was one of two of the |
25 |
| delegates chosen at random to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the |
26 |
| Unknown Soldier; and

| WHEREAS, Mr. Walworth listened to several speakers during |
28 |
| the conference, including Holocaust survivor, Messe Godin, |
29 |
| Clerk of the Supreme Court, Bill Suter, and Undersecretary of |
