| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Aaron Pickering of Harrisburg, age |
3 |
| 20, died on November 10, 2004 in Iraq during the assault on |
4 |
| Fallujah; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Aaron was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 3rd |
6 |
| Marines, C Company, based in Okinawa, Japan; he joined the U.S. |
7 |
| Marine Corps in 2003, arriving in Iraq about two months ago; |
8 |
| and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, He will be remembered as a very fun-loving young |
10 |
| man who always liked to be on the go, hunting, fishing, and |
11 |
| golfing; a 2002 graduate of Harrisburg High School, he was a |
12 |
| golf standout and qualified for state competition in his senior |
13 |
| year; he also played baseball and ran track in his high school |
14 |
| career; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Lance Corporal Aaron Pickering will |
16 |
| be deeply felt by many, especially his father and stepmother, |
17 |
| Carl and Teresa Pickering; his mother and stepfather, Lisa and |
18 |
| Sam Short; his grandparents; and his step-siblings; therefore, |
19 |
| be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
21 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
22 |
| together with his family, friends, fellow members of the United |
23 |
| States armed forces, and the citizens of this State and this |
24 |
| great nation, we mourn the passing of Lance Corporal Aaron |
25 |
| Pickering and we extend to his family our sincerest |
26 |
| condolences; and be it further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
28 |
| presented to the family of Lance Corporal Aaron Pickering as an |
29 |
| expression of our deepest sympathy.
