| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives offer our sincere appreciation to William E. |
| 4 |
| Johnson for his many years of service as County Treasurer of |
| 5 |
| Bond County; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Johnson was elected County Treasurer in 1970, |
| 7 |
| back when figures were all done by hand; he has served nine |
| 8 |
| consecutive terms, the longest consecutive acting terms in |
| 9 |
| Illinois history for a County Treasurer; for 34 years, he has |
| 10 |
| run the office and served the people of Bond County extremely |
| 11 |
| well; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Before he was elected Treasurer, he worked at Pet |
| 13 |
| Milk and was an insurance salesman; while in office, he owned |
| 14 |
| and managed the Uptown Motel and managed a Sears outlet; he has |
| 15 |
| been an active Boy Scout leader since 1993, and has been |
| 16 |
| appointed to the Bond County Housing Authority Board; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, He married Tedra Cunningham in 1962; they have |
| 18 |
| three children, Whitney, Dan and Ryan, and five grandchildren; |
| 19 |
| therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 21 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 22 |
| congratulate William E. Johnson on his retirement and commend |
| 23 |
| him for his long and meritorious service to Bond County |
| 24 |
| residents, as well as the State of Illinois; and be it further
|
| 25 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 26 |
| presented to Mr. Johnson.
