| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, Downers Grove North High School won the IHSA Class |
| 3 |
| 8A Football Championship on Saturday, November 27, at Memorial |
| 4 |
| Stadium in Champaign; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, The Downers Grove North Trojans beat Maine South |
| 6 |
| High School in the championship game by a score of 33 to 13; |
| 7 |
| they rushed for 335 yards and had a 13-minute advantage in time |
| 8 |
| of possession; both the offensive and defensive lines played a |
| 9 |
| strong game; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, The Trojans started the season with a record of 2 |
| 11 |
| wins and 2 losses and went on to finish the season with no |
| 12 |
| other losses; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, During the game, Garrett Edwards had 19 carries |
| 14 |
| for 91 yards and Justin Shelly had 13 carries for 123 yards; |
| 15 |
| linebacker Ryan Rohmann made big plays, including a fourth-down |
| 16 |
| stop that halted a Maine South scoring drive; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, John Wander is the head coach of the Trojans; |
| 18 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 20 |
| NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 21 |
| congratulate the coaches, players, and students of Downers |
| 22 |
| Grove North High School on winning the IHSA Class 8A Football |
| 23 |
| Championship; and be it further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 25 |
| presented to Downers Grove North High School as an expression |
| 26 |
| of our esteem.
