| AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 983

| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 983 by replacing |

| everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| "Section 5. The Personnel Code is amended by adding Section |

| 30 as follows:

| (20 ILCS 415/30 new) |
| 7 |
| Sec. 30. Collective bargaining agreements. Notwithstanding |
| 8 |
| any other provisions of this Code or any other law, executive |
| 9 |
| order, or administrative regulation, all employees whose |
| 10 |
| positions are included in a collective bargaining unit that |
| 11 |
| includes employees who are subject to this Code shall be |
| 12 |
| considered as subject to this Code for all purposes related to |
| 13 |
| their collective bargaining agreement, unless the parties to |
| 14 |
| that agreement mutually agree otherwise.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, |
| 16 |
| 2004".
