| AN ACT in relation to criminal law.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Criminal Code of 1961 is amended by changing
|
| 5 |
| Section 11-16 as follows:
|

| (720 ILCS 5/11-16) (from Ch. 38, par. 11-16)
|

| Sec. 11-16. Pandering.
|
| 8 |
| (a) A
Any person who performs any of the following acts for |
| 9 |
| any
money,
property, token, object, or article or anything of |
| 10 |
| value
commits pandering:
|
| 11 |
| (1) Compels a person to become a prostitute; or
|
| 12 |
| (2) Arranges or offers to arrange a situation in which |
| 13 |
| a person may
practice prostitution.
|
| 14 |
| (b) Sentence.
|
| 15 |
| Pandering by compulsion is a Class 4 felony. Pandering |
| 16 |
| other than by
compulsion is a Class 4 felony.
|
| 17 |
| (c) A person who violates this Section within 1,000 feet of |
| 18 |
| real property
comprising a school commits a Class 3 felony.
