SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 		













65 ILCS 5/11-141-10.1 new










    Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that, if a municipality annexes
part or all
of the territory in which a township operates a sewerage system, the corporate
authorities
of the municipality shall assume responsibility for that portion of the
sewerage system
within the annexed territory. Effective immediately.

    AN ACT concerning municipalities.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by adding 
5
Section 11-141-10.1 as
follows:

    (65 ILCS 5/11-141-10.1 new)

    Sec. 11-141-10.1. Annexation of territory including 
8
township sewerage
system. If a
municipality
annexes part or all 
9
of the territory in which a township operates a sewerage

system, the
corporate authorities of the municipality shall 
11
assume responsibility for that
portion of the
sewerage system

within the annexed territory.

    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
14
becoming law.
