| AN ACT concerning State Police.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Department of State Police Law of the
Civil |

| Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding Section |
| 6 |
| 2605-278 as follows:
|

| Sec. 2605-278. Decoy law enforcement vehicle pilot |
| 9 |
| program. To establish and operate, for one year after the |
| 10 |
| effective date of this amendatory Act of the 93rd General |
| 11 |
| Assembly, a decoy law enforcement vehicle pilot program in |
| 12 |
| coordination with local law enforcement agencies in order to |
| 13 |
| deter crime in areas of the State plagued by high rates of drug |
| 14 |
| trafficking. Upon request of a local law enforcement agency, |
| 15 |
| the Department shall locate old or unused law enforcement |
| 16 |
| vehicles in a drug-infested area, periodically relocating each |
| 17 |
| vehicle within the area and periodically assigning State |
| 18 |
| troopers to law enforcement activities within the area.
